Matthew 25:35 Ministry is about service. First to our King, Jesus - then to His lost and hurting little ones...
Outreach to the Homeless and the Poor
At Matthew 25:35 Ministry, we’re a group of believers in Christ Jesus who strive to obey God, while serving our fellow man according to the scripture of Matthew 25:35-40. This is our calling and the pinnacle of our responsibility. Our ministry of feeding and clothing the homeless in Central Ohio has been in full force since December, 2009.
Above all, our goal is to glorify Christ in all things that we do and say. There have been circumstances when we reach a camp where someone has been there but is not present, we place an introduction letter with our contact information. That will enable them to come to us for assistance if needed before our next visit. Matthew 25:35 Ministry also strives to ensure that there are a lot of social service agencies present, to determine benefit eligibility. They are also there to provide help with employment, housing, and any medical needs if necessary. Partnering with these agencies so that they can offer and provide help in any way is a necessary environment for our friends.
However, the most important thing we could offer is hope – for without hope we are truly lost. We are a people who come together for the common good and especially as faith-based groups, want to show our friends that God does love and care for them. It is not only our mission but also our desire and calling to treat our friends with respect and dignity. They need to know that they are not alone or forgotten.
FEEDING THE BODY
On a weekly basis (Thursdays Nights) we visit a centralized homeless area at 645 W. Broad Street, Columbus Ohio. The time is from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM or at the latest 6:30 PM to allow for clean-up. We provide meals for groups averaging around 30 to 50 people. We provide food/water (hot and nutritious meals), and as much clothing (pants, shirts, socks, underwear, blankets, and cold weather items for the winter months), toiletries, backpacks, and much more. As you can imagine, all of these items are much needed.
FEEDING THE SPIRIT
We conduct “home” Bible studies with our friends in the homeless communities and share the love of Jesus with them on a regular basis. It is important to meet the needs of their physical bodies, but it is also important or more important to feed their spirits. Other homeless outreaches have allied themselves with us as well. As we know, every soul is precious to our Lord, Jesus Christ, and since He is their only way to the Father – we want to be the vehicle that drives them to Jesus.
As a testimony, we have seen lives changed and transformed by the power of God’s love. We have witnessed the alcoholic, and individuals freed from addiction, and the formerly homeless – in homes once again – due to the overwhelming power of God’s amazing love.
In addition to and along with that, the most pertinent resource that we share with our homeless friends is the Word of the Living God. Giving them their own personal Bibles, reading with them a scripture or devotional, handing out Gospel tracks, and having prayer with/for them – these are the necessary actions taken to get our friends in the mindset of a better life for themselves. By giving them the knowledge that God is real and that He really loves them is a reward within itself. Download your own KJV Holy Bible here.
PARTNERS, FRIENDS, AND ALLIES
We also provide literature from agencies social service resources such as:
“Street Card” - This lists several valuable resources and contacts for our homeless friends. They list such things as shelters, food, and medical attention, as well as information on the charitable pharmacy.
Local churches and their “provided items” list, and referrals to the open shelters among others.
VOLUNTEER AND DONATE
We at Matthew 25:35 Ministry, are requesting your assistance in our mission to help the homeless, by giving whatever it may be that the Lord puts on your heart to give. Become a part of the vision to reach out a hand to the oppressed, downtrodden, and marginalized citizens who are most forgotten by our society. Honor the LORD with your substance (Proverbs 3:9). Generosity to the poor lends to the LORD (Proverbs 19:17). Donate material (see above list). And most importantly, donate your time. Volunteer with us on our quest to meet the needs of our homeless friends.
Luke 10:2 reminds us:
“Therefore He said unto them, the harvest is truly great but the laborers are few: Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers unto His harvest”
Won’t you join us in laboring for the Harvest? Thank you, and God Bless!

Matthew 25:35 Ministry is a (501c3) non-profit Christian ministry that was founded in 2009 to help the poor and homeless in the Columbus area. Our mission is to obey the words of our Savior from Matthew 25:35-40.
In these verses Jesus says:
Matt 25:35-39 NIV – For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
Matt 25:40 NIV – “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
Come Join Us for work in the Kingdom:
Luke 10:2 NIV – He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
