Above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, two which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Colossians 3:14-15
We are instructed to “put on love, which is the bond of perfection“ . Gods love is the key to letting God‘s peace role, and God‘s peace brings us together in unity. So what does that kind of love, God’s love, look like? The answer is found in the great love chapter of 1 corinthian‘s 13. “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade it’s self, it is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, it’s not provoked, thanks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails“
What does that kind of love look like, the WHAT is “let the peace of Christ rule“ and the HOW is to “put on love.“ When God‘s love reigns over us, God‘s peace rules in us.
Lord Jesus, refresh our souls with your love, and fill our hearts with your piece. Help us rest in you. Amen
